The Varden · A Self-Service Micro Hotel

Enjoyed my stay just wish the shower head was different Positive: It’s super close to the Pacfic station, literally 5 min walk, and to the Pike. You can easily walk anywhere in 15 mins. It’s a self check in so you just get the code and open the door. The air conditioner was wonderful! Wish they had a humidifier in there. I also wish the rooms came with at least a kids size water bottle or two. The Fridge gets super cold and the microwave worked well. They had an electric kettle but it didn’t have the plug. There was tea and coffee but no bottled water. The bed linens were nice and isn’t soil fast. The room was very clean. Negative: The walls are thin so I heard the person next door snoring. There was a leak in the lobby. The bed is basic not fluff or foam just a spring mattress. The shower is super small the shower head should be a rainfall shower head because there’s no space. I’m 165 and could barely move around. The curtain kept sticking to my bum.

It was good Positive: Great price compared to the other hotels in the area. The location was exactly where I needed to be in downtown Long Beach. The room had everything I needed. Negative: The room was really small. I knew what I was getting going into it, but it was a little tighter than I was expecting. There was also no cable TV. Kinda of weird staying in a hotel without cable TV.

The room was clean and the proprietors sent clear instructions for check-in. Location was as described. This property is in need of maintenance, however. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud, the wifi network had limited to no connectivity, and the toilet ran continuously unless I intervened to fix the apparatus inside the tank. When I sent this information to the proprietors they replied "thanks for letting me know."

My stay was excellent as always. Positive: What I think of the breakfast is that there is none served. The location is fine. Negative: What would better is the guy over me that is dropping stuff on the floor and talking loud.

Bed was cozy! Quiet at night and window coverings allowed it to be dark, so great sleep. Clean, perfect size for a person there to do outdoor activities, onsite parking. Host was very responsive. Cute studio with a great price. Would definitely stay there again.
